Very easy to drink and light bodied and flavored. Low carbonated and almost seemed a bit flat, at the Gordon Biersch Brewery. Nothing special really, and perhaps my least favorite Kolsch I’ve had. I liked Saint Arnold Lawnmower better, and also also Pyramid’s Curveball kolsches better. Cornfield (4975), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

It has a bright yellow body with some lazy bubbling and a creamy white head. Nice lacing. It has a sweet fresh bread aroma coupled with a mild grassy bitterness. This continues into the flavor, although the hoppy bitterness grows a little. crisp finish. A decent warm weather beer.

Way to much malt character in this one. The clarity was way off and the carbonation was weak. I like my home brewed (extract even) Kolsch better than this one. It figures that GB screws up an ale since they mostly do lagers. This is a way underappreciated style that I’m hoping brewers start to fill up their fermenters with. I appluad GB for having this in their seasonal rotation and hope to see it on the menu again...they’ll figure it out. BeerVirgin72 (814), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

Smelled very lightly of malts and oranges. Taste was citrus, malts with a slight hop finish. Definitely a lighter summer beer. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA

Called the Sommerfest beer...Golden, light head and good lacing. Nose of light malt, some caramelly notes and a touch of hops. Moderate bitterness. The flavor is ho-hum, definately a summer beer. It’s dang hot and I’m drenched, and I still want a beer with more flavor than this. beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA

Called the seasonal Sommerfest, sneaking suspicion it’s this beer (it was described as a Kolsch, and even served ina proper Kolsch glass!). Good golden body, bright bouncy notes. Still a tad heavy on the palate. Great nonetheless.
