Draught at GB San Diego: Dark amber color, a nice sized head and good lacing. The nose is malty with light toasty caramel and some light fruitiness. The flavor is balanced, good body and full toasty biscuity flavor. The finish is creamy. Decent vienna, especially considering the source.

Draught. Light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, caramel), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of bubble gum, orange, and honey. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.

Draft at the brewpub (Phoenix location). Poured a clear medium orange color. Head was off white with good retention. Some lace was left behind at the end. The aroma was of noble and grassy hops, brown sugar, and toffee. Delicately sweet up front with a dried and slightly bitter finish (bitterness peaked at about 3 out of 10). The flavor palate included dominant grassy hop, subdued molasses, brown sugar elements. Pretty good.

On tap at the San Francisco brewpub. Rich gold color with a white head. Sweet caramel aroma. Very similar to the GB Märzen, but with a little more heat. Maybe a bit of lingonberry to the aroma?

Draft @ Broomfield, CO location: Yellow orange. Fine, dense white foam. Toasted malts produce straw and toffee aromas. Carbonation is soft and creamy but also fairly acidic. Quite grainy, initially, but beautifully rounded with a toasted biscuit sweetness. Malt is quite chewy and also hints at fresh hay which supports the staunch toastiness. Deep candied malt sweetness alleviates the slightly mushy body. Persistently sweetly malty but well-attenuated finish remains layered with toffee, toast, and straw. Despite the acidic carbonation, high level of filtration, and slightly flimsy body, this is a delightfully clean and bready example. Rather pleased with this.
