Pours light brown with a tan head. Smells of clove, wheat, some spice. Tastes of dark fruit, some caramel, molasses, sweet finish.

09 winter tapping at Bolingbrook, Il. Weizen glass served. Murky, brownish hue with a good, off white head, and fair lacing. Dark fruit, maybe a touch of ripe banana, and subtle bread and spice tones made up the aroma. These carried over into the flavor with a little caramel, some sweetness, and just a touch of hop dryness. I enjoyed letting it warm to let the pleasant flavor notes and alcohol intensify.

Draft at Toronado; by far the best GB brew I have had; Nose of banana, caramel, bubblegum, and brown sugar; cloudy, very dark brown with a medium tan head; flavor was banana, light brown sugar sweetness, and light bitterness. Damn good WB!

Draft. Slightly hazy caramel colored beer with an off-white head. yeast, malt, and wheat aroma. Caramel, wheat, yeast, and banana flavor. Medium body. Sweet caramel lingers with yeast, light banana, and light spice. I liked it more than I thought I would.

Poured from tap at brewery a hazy amber with large off-white head. Aroma is sweet with banana, bubblegum and clove. Flavor is sticky sweet with bubblegum, caramel, banana, and a touch of clove spice. Overall nice flavor and aroma but the low carbonation and big sweetness made this one harder to drink in hot weather than it should have been.

On tap at Mission Valley location. Aroma was of huge banana/bubblegum; hints of alcohol and spice. Color of amber/orange; big off white head. Flavor was not as good as the aroma. Flavor was good, but too mellow of a banana flavor. Tasted more alcoholic than its listed. Not too great for a style I like; but still tasty.

GB in Bolingbrook. Jude’s 40th. Enjoyed this- chestnut brown- their "seasonal" selection. Good head, more on the spicy side (e.g., all-spice or licorice) with hints of weiss and banana. Interesting- a bit like the Weinhestephaner Korbinian I had a couple of weeks ago.

Very nice beer, but I think I’m rating it as a dunkelweizen as opposed to the weizen bock that it is, seeming to me more like the former. Certainly the stronger ABV is well hidden. It pours a cloudy deep chestnut brown body with a substantially sized tan head. Lots of lace. The aroma has scents of aging bananas, a chocolatey malt, soft wheat, a hint of clove, and rust. Fluffy mouthfeel. The malt is caramelly in the flavor, the bananas get even older, a mild nutty bitterness enters the picture, and the spices are muted. Sweet fruity finish. Not too shabby.
