pours clear but rich... fairly dark auburn brown with a soft tannish head and random lace spots.
lots of fruit in the nose... bananas, stone fruit and vinous/red wine along with some brown sugar and nuttiness.
the palate is a bit harsh/rough... luckily, or in my case not, there’s a bunch of molasses and caramely sweetness to help smooth it out. flavors of grain, more fruit and a touch of smokiness with a dry spicy finish. the alcohol gets floral and hot as it warms. medium body with a slick buttery mouth feel. there’s a substance to the body which reminds me of chestnut flour/starch.
not bad. though a bit syrupy, hot and uninspiring. 7/3/5/3/13/3.1

Nose of chocolates and malts. Taste comes off bitter, then the nice maltiness and chocolates come through. Body is light at first but firms up as it warms. Alcohol certainly is evident. Nice drinkable beer. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
