Commercial Description:
In 1992, Gordon launches Finest Gold, a strong and refined beer with a typically scottish character, combining the forces of charm and persuasion. Its origins and its strength (10% degrees of alcohol) give it its smooth taste and explosive nature. The taste of this incomparable beer is nevertheless entirely suited to the new demand of its many enthusiasts. Gordon Finest Gold is today available in 33 cl and 50 cl cans.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a clear golden color and a honey sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppybitter with a aniseed touch. This beer smells fruity.

33cl bottle, as pictured. Pours a clear, deep golden yellow with a big, frothy white head. Good retention, generous lacing. Aroma of sweet apples/bubblegum, yeast and citrus fruit. Medium- to heavy-bodied "quadrupel" with low carbonation. Oily, thick mouth feel. Sweetish taste of peach, toasted malt and alcohol. The categorization on this site is perfect: It smells, tastes and feels like a Belgian quadrupel/strong ale, not at all like anything else from the British isles. The sugary character feels very Belgian - you idiots on this site have double standards! Just read the incompetent reviews below - they’re knocking this beer down for the very same qualities that they’re praising Belgian trappist ales for! Think of the hypocrisy! Well-crafted strong ale for those who like their beer honey-ish, peach-ish. As such, it’s better than many other "Belgian Strong Ales", except it’s not Belgian.

22nd February 2008. Sweet aromatic maltiness dominates. Slight sour malt finish that lingers well in to the aftertaste.

Clear golden body with a thin white head. Smell is kind of grassy and earthy. The taste is the same. Doesn’t have the great qualities of good BSAs. Kind of reminds me of a Kolsch more than a BSA.

0.33L bottle, small thin head, crystal clear light bronze colour with quite a lot of carbonation, aroma of yeast and vanila, strong overpowering alcoholic presence which is a little coarse, light fruity sweetness. Nothing to write home about.

Looks okay, a light yellow colour, pour is all right with some minimal and very average head. Taste is syrup, citrus, and oh yeah, can’t forget the ridiculously overbearing alcohol all over this thing. It isn’t really drinkable and seriously, if you want to get trashed, just buy some vodka already.

clear golden pour, and a small white head. Aroma of alcohol, sweet corny vegetables, and some odd caramel. Flavor is sweet, not cloying, but an odd sweetness. This is really just rocket fuel masquerading as a belgian strong ale.

Clear goldblond coloured ber with medium white head and medium carbonation. Alcoholic hoppy aroma. Full palate. Finish is bitter ending alcoholic and less bitter. Ok.
