This beer is great!! Pours a frothy light brown head on a chestnut colored body with a fine red glow. Aroma is heavy malty and fruity with lots of spices. Notes of chocolate, raisins, prunes and a warming tone of alcohol. Excellent! Flavor is full-bodied and extremely tasty. Malt, nuts, spices, dark fruits, citrus, milk chocolate. Soft, smooth and warming and really how a christmas beer should be like imo. Outstanding!

Firm toasted malts harbor sweetened dried fruit in a balanced setting where sustained hop bitterness installs its leafiness for the long run.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-Sturdy foam covers the apparently clear(?!) orange-tinged blood red.
-The nose is tamer and more linear than the flavor profile, which appears more expressive, but also more complex.
-The comfortable effervescence and levelled dextrins provide a well-sculpted mouthfeel.
-This is not nearly as spicy as most Belgian Kerstbiers.
-A discreet alcohol presence lets all other flavors shine.
-Some minerals seem to accompany the toastiness and light roastiness, especially in the nose.
-The sweet fruitiness is redolent of licorice, but not overly so.

Aug 8, 2008 Bouteille de 330 ml obtenue via Importations Privées Bièropholie. Arôme: Odeur de céréales grillées et d’épices. Apparence: La couleur est brune bourgogne avec une faible densité de bulle. Présence d’un moyen col beige crémeux et d’une large dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de caramel fruitée et de céréales avec une pointe d’épices. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement crémeuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche.
