Part of a beer sampler on Valentines Day. Perhaps a little better than some of the mass produced reds, but it tasted a bit watered down and weak. We thought this beer was average for the style, but not outstanding by any means.

Draught. Pours amber with an edgy tan frothy head with lined lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, floral hops, sour yeast and then a nutty nose. Medium bitter, mild acidity and sweet malt, nutty and finsish is sweaty yeast. Medium bodied, fizzy and smooth, refreshing palate.

Draft at brewery: Medium amber with a red apple glow. Medium body; healthy carbonation. Sweet, sugary base. Malts have a little cocoa and buttered toast. Nice hops (very herbal, flowery, citrusy, and a little perfumey). Decent red with a little personality.

Don’t prejudge this brewery for their horrendous, generic looking labels, they actually make some very nice beer. This one is labeled a Red. It reminds me of Red Banshee by H.C. Berger Brew. Co. and Jamaican Red , yet not as much depth, by Mad River. A very tasty and authentic Red.
