11/10/2009: Gösser Beer... Aroma: Sharp, grassy hops with a slightly metallic edge; very faint Eurpean pale/Pils malt in the bachground. Appearance: Transparent, light straw color; white crown. Flavor: Slightly dry, yet adequately flavorful; light, tangy malts paired with a crisp, grassy, leafy, and spicy hop bitterness; not quite enough bite and bitterness for my preference, but adequate (maybe moreso) for the style. Palate: Medium-light; crisp; low level of carbonation; smoooooth. Overall: This beer brings back some good memories. I spent 3 months in Austria during college and there was a vending machine in the lobby of the dorm that had Gösser. I didn’t drink a lot of this beer while I was there since I was hitting the Zipfer and Stiegl pretty hard, but it was always available in an emergency and it’s fun to have it again almost 10 years later...

Oct 29, 2009 Can. Pours a light yellow with a white disappearing head. Aroma of metal and hops. Tastes grassy, with a crisp finish. Not much malt. Pretty good for a plain pale lager. Not bad.

Sep 17, 2009 Tap @ Hotel Stefanie Hippach. Pale blonde. Grassy aroma. Grassy hopbitter, slightly soapy flavor lingering on for a while in the aftertaste. Not unpleasant.

Sep 13, 2009 This pale lager has a hop content that exceeds that of others in its class. Other than that, this beer is average compared to most light beers.

Aug 26, 2009 12 ounce green bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a thin head. Fair head retention and lacing. Grainy and slightly nutty aroma with faintly grassy and leafy hops. Taste is lightly sweet grains with a bitter hop finish. Thin-medium bodied. Good for the style.
