Sep 25, 2007 Had this beer on 6/22/2000. Aroma is a bit skunky. Color bright gold, with good carbonation and ok head. Taste is sweet and lightly skunky. Starting with a light body goes down with a skunky like taste. Finish is starts a bit sweet then goes to a skunky with a slight bitter end. Just another bad green bottled beer.

Well, is there a better time to rerate the Gosser than compare it with Marzen. Well, I got 0.25 l green bottle now, which pored golden body with tiny head. Aroma I felt now is more malty than hoppy, some sweetish corns, not so nice though. Flavor is also malty, but less than Marzen and thin bodied, quite empty, with low carbonation, too. Finish not bad a bit bittersweet, but nothing also here.
Nope, from the color, aroma and flavor, this is not the same as Märzen, although not much better.
Old rating
0.33 l bottle. Pours pale yellow body with small white head. Nice aroma of citrus hops, but quite common. Flavor is nothing special, sweetish malty with no traces of nothing much. Not watery, but pretty empty somehow. Very nice finish though. Not bad, but pretty ordinary beer, not my favorite as to many beer lovers.

Sep 15, 2007 0.5l can. Light golden yellow. Almost no head. Little carbonation. Aroma is really faint and quite dull. Tastes very strongly of malt. Perhaps a small hint of banana. Not much there. Palate is nice though.

Sep 12, 2007 On tap at Ace Hotel in Portland--Poured a suspect straw yellow clear and "clean" body with a small fizzy white head. Small hint of spicy hops, but pretty darn boring.

I tried this beer after purchasing it from the local LCBO store. The beer poured a medium translucent gold colour into a glass with a loose white head that disappeared within minutes. The odour was similar to many pale lager types with a hint of hops. The mouthfeel was clean, crisp, and light. The flavour wasn’t very hoppy at all. Not too many discernable flavours if any.

Aug 19, 2007 Somewhere in my top 10 favourite lagers is this one. Good all around. Very clean taste. Similar to 1664 and Stella. Wish they came in bottles here.

Aug 18, 2007 Bottle. Frankly this beer wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t anything particularly special. A little skunky, with an average aftertaste.
