Commercial Description:
Bock beer is generally a very strong beer. Gösser bock beer is of a deep yellow colour, excels with a very complex aroma and a dominant smell of malt. The fresh, fruity taste is complemented by flavours that are reminiscent of gingerbread, spice and dark bread. The finish or final taste is strong and long-lasting.

Aroma is fruity , color is full golden. Pleasant malty with alcohol notes. Full and rich. Aftertaste with acid notes, long and light bitter (astringent). Pleasant on a cold day.

Bottled, Best before 3/2005, tryed 4/2008: Aroma with notes of oat, rye and honey. Some fruitiness in it. Hazy yellow color. Full flavor, intensive honey and complex malt notes with hints of oat an dsome alcohol. Pleasant, medium sweetness, followed by a refreshing sourly notes and a quite astringent, light bitter finish. 7/4/8/4/15 Very interesting vinetage bock.

06/01 0.5 l bottle from Spar in Semriach. My first heller bock, finally. Poured clear pale yellow body with small head. Sweet malty aroma manifesting as honey and flowers. Some faint hops here, too. Quite weak, but very pleasant. Very interesting flavor, sweetish malts again, but made in the very pleasant way. Tasty, full bodied, with no traces of alcohol, the same in finish, this was very good thing for me, despite actually being very simple.

"good, better, a real gösser" - well that rhymes not quite good in english. but the german " gut, besser, ein echtes gösser" does not much better... gold-orange colour, small head. sweet smell, sweet beginning. later it gets more and more hopsy but keeps malty aromes.

Bottle, 7.1%. Clear dark golden colour. Big stable white head. The flavour is malty and peppery. Nice and clean. Good mouthfeel.

0.5l bottle courtesy of and shared with heavy, who brought it from Austria (thanks!)
Poured a clear golden body with a medium sized thick white head. Weak but nice malty nose, a touch oily. The taste is nicely malty as well. Some all too ordinary but passable hoppy bitterness, some yeastiness and grain. Hoppy finish and aftertaste. Alcohol extremely well hidden. Not flashy, but a pleasant Austrian heller bock.

A nice bock beer, though a little light for the style.

(Bottle BBE 05/2007; Thanks Jay!) Malty, hoppy and slightly fruity aroma. Light golden colour, clear and large, white, slightly lasting head with good lacing. Malty, fruity, slightly grassy and slightly acidic flavour with an initial hint of caramel. Softly carbonated, medium to full-bodied and slightly alcoholic palate. Very good Austrian bock! 28/01/07
