Commercial Description:
A spezial delight. The strong, full-bodied Gösser Spezial is a delight for lovers of rich beers. This is a beer with style and a nutty, hop fragrance that is both refreshing and concentrated on the palate. An elegant hop aroma and delicate bitter tang accompany the enjoyment of this bottom-fermented beer, which demonstrates remarkable head stability. Gösser Spezial was drunk to celebrate the signing of the Austrian state treaty.

Bottle, 5.1%. Mild grainy aroma. Clear golden colour. Small white head. The flavour starts off clean, but turns grainy. Not much to say, quite standard lager.

Bottled, pasteurised. Light golden lager with gassy head. Spritzy, gently hopped lager on the better end of eurofizz with a biscuity malt. Claen and fresh but basically suffering from overall effect. OK

Light horseblanket aroma. Pale golden, good lace. Pretty hoppy for a Austrian beer, light sweet, malty. Dry, hopbitter finish.

Canned. Pale golden with a rather large and short white head. Pretty sourish aroma, but rather fresh flavour. Some sweet acohol coming through.

Bottled in Vienna. Soft, Bohemian style pilsener. More hops and less sweet than most Austrian beers. OK, but not in any way outstanding.

330ml green bottle bought at Meinl am Graben, Wien. Clear golden body. Fast fading foam ending in a thin patch at the surface. Fresh grass in aroma. Sweet taste of light malts and hops. Average lager (04.12.2007).
