Nice smooth mellow sweet malt, with chocolate and toffee and some roasted grains. Hops were noticeable and nicely balanced the sweetness. Lots of body, expecting much less I was pleasantly surprised. Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia

Malty aromas. Flavour balances between sweet and bitter (and unfortunately for my taste more to the sweet side). Not bad though thomasacross (129), Edina, Minnesota, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Dec 27, 2006 Draft at Black Forest Inn. Dark brown in appearance (like a brown ale) with a creamy head. Smooth, creamy and fulfilling in the mouth. More sweet than bitter with a biscuity, molasses flavor. Couldn’t imagine a better session beer. I imagine this is much better on draft, can’t imagine the creaminess out of a bottle without a widget. Highly recommended. LyndaNova (497), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
