Commercial Description:
The bottom fermented, dark Gösser Stiftsbräu is brewed according to old, inherited traditions. With a smoky, roasted nose and a thick and creamy taste on the palate, Stiftsbräu is a sophisticated delight for lovers of a slightly sweet, dark beer. The overall impression that Stiftsbräu creates is one of great harmony and well roundedness.

Dark brown with big red highlights. Small but tight, light brown head. Sweet amlty aroma with some mustiness and hop present. Musty flavour also, with a very dry, roast malt, bitter finish. A bit average really.

The bottle said Gösser Stiftsbräu 4.2%. but I was send here. Golden brown colour with a off-white head. Sweet light roasted malty aroma and taste. Medium body and a sweet finish.

(Bottled) Very dark reddish brown color with a medium, foamy and tanned head. Chocolatey, burned-malty aroma with caramel. Roasted-malty flavor with some fruitiness, ashy finish, and a lingering, mildly syrupy-sweet aftertaste. Medium-bodied, quite thick and smooth-carbonated palate. A reasonably interesting, drinkable and well-balanced dunkel.

Pours dark brown with a lasting off white head. Has a nice malty flavor. A very nice Dunkel to drink at the local pub.

Dunkel Lite, perhaps? Nonetheless, this is a solid yet subtle example of the Dunkel style. Very drinkable- slight molasses in the finish with a light carbonated mouthfeel throughout. A good session Dunkel, if there ever was one. Recommended.

Thin slightly yellowish head. Very dark brown nody with a deep red when held up to the light. The aroma is typical for the style with some bubblegum and corn. Also hints of roasted nuts. The mouthfeel is medium and slick. this has some roasted notes along with pears. There are definitely cherries in the aftertaste. A little too sweet. A very solid dunkel.

One of my favorite beers to order, when a bar has it. I like the way this one looks, tasteas, and feels. Not the best dunkel out there, but a good standy.
