Apr 16, 2007 Bottle, 4.5% in Rome. Weak caramel aroma. Mild bready flavour with a slightly roasted aftertaste and a hint of green apple. Clear dark brown colour. Unstable light brown head. Hint of sourness which does well to balance.

Dark ruby, creamy tanned head, lace. Roasted, slightly caramelly and skunked hoppy aroma. Roasted, oaky malts. Toffee flavors with grassy hops. Oily, slightly bitter aftertaste. Quite sweet for a dunkel, maybe more vienna-like.

Sep 17, 2009 Bottle @ Hotel Stefanie Hippach, one month past best before date. Malty aroma with milk chocolate. Malty sweetish flavor with caramel, nutmeg, cinnamon. Some nutty caramelly bitterness in the aftertaste. Not unpleasant.

Mar 29, 2005 The bottle said Gösser Stiftsbräu 4.2%. but I was send here. Golden brown colour with a off-white head. Sweet light roasted malty aroma and taste. Medium body and a sweet finish.

Dec 13, 2007 Bottle… Clear burnt amber lager with orange highlights and a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The sweet aroma is a bit chocolaty and caramelized with good roasted, smoky notes and a light whiff of skunk. The flavor is well-roasted with subtle chocolate, smoke and coffee essences, but leans way over onto the sweet side of balance… only a rumor of anything resembling lupulin. Medium-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, chocolaty, cloyingly sweet finish.
