Jan 2, 2009 75cl bottle. Dark reddish brown, creamy beige head. Very alcoholic, sweet candi sugary aroma with liquorice, aniseed. Quite dull sugary flavor with same herbs, little roastiness and alcohol. Almost medium bodied with smooth carbonation. Nothing special here, average strong ale.

Jan 2, 2009 330ml bottle, 9th Nov 08. Beguiling odour of dark fruits and woodiness, which carries over to the flavour, thick with treacle and thorough maltiness. Deep brown with a thin whitish head. You feel the alcohol but you don’t taste it - a very good winter sipping beer.

Jan 1, 2009 Very nice beer. Pours dark ruby-brown with a dense, rocky head with plenty of lacing. There’s a wonderful sweet-smoky aroma. Flavor is all yeast and dark fruits, raisin, plum, etc. I like it.

Dec 30, 2008 This beer is suprisingly smooth for the alcohoic aroma and strong alcohol content. It is a Belgian "brown" ale with much the same charachteristics of a blonder or golden. Smooth with a good mouthfeel and non lingering aftertaste. Good Belgian.

Dec 28, 2008 [33cl bottle, mille grazie Ivo] Clear, ruby amber colour with a big and beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty and slightly nutty aroma with toffee, vanilla and a slightly vinous fruity touch of raisins. Sweet flavour with a light burnt bitterness, full bodied with a very creamy and pleasant mouthfeel. Aromatic, delicately toasty malt profile with notes of caramel, dark berries and raisins. Strong malty and subtle fruity finish with a pleasant, Armagnac-like finish. A very balanced and complex brew [19.XII.08].

Dec 23, 2008 Bottle. Sweet malty and fruity aroma. Hazy dark reddish brown body, creamy beige head. Flavor is ripe fruit sweet, with plenty of caramel and malt evident, and a bit of intrusive alcohol. Sweet finish. Tasty, but not superlative. Disappointing on the whole.

Dec 18, 2008 Bottle: Poured a dark color beer with a thick foamy brown head with excellent retention. Aroma of figs with sweet alcohol notes and typical Belgian yeast is easily identifiable and greatly enjoyable. Taste is quite rich with figs and plum sweetness with a thick body and warm alcohol note mix with lots of yeast.
