Poured a dark chestnut brown with a small tan head which dissipated quickly. Candied sugar, roasted malts, and slight alcohol notes on the nose. Tasted of raisins and figs, dark fruits, hint of bitter chocolate. Sweet at first and moving to bitter towards the end of the sip. Medium on the palate and fizzy. Delicious beer!

Nov 20, 2008 Very dark brown with a bit of a nice orange tint. Less head than expected, and fades a bit quickly. Fruity, slightly funky aroma, molasses, caramel, honey and spice. Sweet, honey and brown sugar flavor, with chocolate, licorice and dried fruits. Very sweet yet has about enough funk to balance. Interesting and original. Complex, but a bit too sweet and cloying. I like it, though.

Pours a clear dark brown colour with almost no head or carbonation.
Smell is chocolate, raisins and spices.
Taste is very open and tastes like coffee and caramel.
Very nice beer.

Oct 25, 2008 (bottle) Dark brown, opaque beer with minimal tan head. Very strong aroma of sweet, dark roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, licorice, and dark fruit. Flavor has chocolate and coffee, and sugar.

Oct 24, 2008 (Bottle, 0.75 l, on 2008-10-18) Dark brown. Hazy. Big white head that lasts long. Chocolate and malts in nose. Full bodied palate with quite a lot of carbonation. Chocolate, malts, some bitterness, hint of salty liquorice and some dried plum in taste. Long lasting aftertaste with malty and bitter flavours.

Oct 20, 2008 Bottle 33. This dark-amber beer is very sweet with a nice aroma of malt, sugar and alcool.
Becomes more fruity after some minutes.

Oct 20, 2008 Bottle pours a dark brown body with 2 finger tan head. Spiced well with clove cinnamon. Chocolate malt, a nutty aroma, and fruity esters. Banana and vanilla.

Pours a heavy brown with copperish edges. The tan-brown head is thick, long lasting and nice lacing.
The sweet floaral nose hides a hint of alcohol and grape undertones.
Wonderful taste. Very deep. The first whisps of carbonation hit you with rasin and grape tones that blend into a pleasant sweetness. The not too thin. not too thick mouth feel makes the flavors explode. The finish is alcohol but with lingering wine and vanilla flavors.
I am really sorry I waited so long to try this. Excellent beer.
