Commercial Description:
Het Anker Brewery still brews "The Emperor’s Beer" which is top-fermented and bottle conditioned following traditional methods. Its high gravity (O.G. 1080-85) combines the warmth of wine and the freshness of beer. Gouden Carolus is one of the strongest and most exciting beers in the world. After lengthy maturing and conditioning, it is bottled unfiltered, giving a beer which is rich in vitamins and 100% natural. Gouden Carolus has unlimited storage (it even improves with age) and will charm you with its warm coppery colour and rich bouquet.

pours a dark red with a light med head. Aroma of fruit and some yeast. Very sweet taste with a light alco which adds to the flavour.

Reddish brown colour with a medium head. Aroma is yeast and fruits. The flavour is fruity, yeasty and a bit sweet with notes of alcohol. Smooth medium-bodied beer. Very tasty Belgian strong ale.

Deep red color with big, cloudy, lacy, beige head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, malty with some berries and alcohol hints. Flavor is sweet, raisiny, syrupy roasty malty, spicy, some licorice with drie fruits and alcohol hints. Full-bodied, alcholic and foamy carbonated palate.

Dark brown colour, small tan head. Aroma has malts and some fruits. Flavour is of roasted malts, spices and some fruits. Nice one.

There is a dark fruit flavor and aroma to this beer. It also seems to take on characteristics of an alcohol-laden Butterfinger candy bar.

Sweet dark fruits, candi sugar and some alcohol in aroma. Flavor is sweet dark fruits, plums, raisins, candi sugar and some alcohol. Smooth, warming palate.
