Bottle at Gollem, Amsterdam. This was the beer that settled me in. Reminded me I’m a puny mortal facing the gods of destruction. I fought hard against the delicious esters of the yeast but was ultimately overcome by the sweet malts. This is seriously delicious, kids. Don’t try this at your friend’s house.

Rich, warming taste. Comfortably sweet aroma with raisins, brown sugar and fruits. Alcohol quite well hidden. Mildly roasted and long aftertaste.

Bottled: Medium sized offwhite head, retention is good with a fair amount of lasting lace. Fairly clear amber/dark copper hued brew. Nose is lightly fruity, raisins, plum and caramelly with maybe some chocolate notes as well. Body is med/full with a nice carbonation level, lightly oily. Dark fruity flavors, raisin, grape, lightly sweet malts with some yeastiness happening, lightly earthy. Nice fruity finish with a hint of melon. Enjoyed @ statelineliquors last Belgian tasting 11/10/07

750 Ml Bottle-Clear amber color w/a nice white head. Sweet fruity aroma. Rich full flavor w/traces of cane sugar, caramel, Figs, dark fruit, & spices. Very good Belgian w/a satisfying flavor, though not as sweet as some. Alcohol is evedent, this is an after dinner, warmer upper. Very fresh w/a long spicy finish.

Nothing like expected. Nose is juicily estery, with overripe banana, plum, maybe strawberry, and a clove/cinnamon spiciness (salivating). Heading towards my top 100 and I’ve not even tasted it yet. Aromatically heady and fruity, but not overpowering. Raisins, white pepper, caramel, more banana. Bubblegum and dandelion and Burdock rootiness in the snout and beyond. Swill and inhale. How can the mouth match that?? It can’t, but it tries with more cinnamon, heady fruit and Dunkelish plums. A banana, brown sugar and cinnamon snadwich of a beer. Slips down wickedly with a delicate dusting of spice. Clear red with a billowing beige head.

The aroma is of figs, malt. It’s copper with a tone of red, very dark. The flavor is malty, with tones of fruit like figs. The palate is thick and creamy - very nice!
