Aroma of dark fruit and slightly sweet. Pours a hazy brownish red. Fresh flavor, malty with slight cherry and nut taste. Overall, an excellent Belgian.

750mL. Pours a slightly hazy ruby body with a medium khaki head. Some tiny bits of sediment. Dark fruity, cherry, sugary, yeasty aroma with slight alcohol notes. Sweet fruity, spicy flavor. Thick syrupy mouthfeel. Finish is really sweet like candy with a slight alcohol kick. Really nice beer.

0.33L bottle, small head, brown colour with lots of red hues, aromas of coffee, barnyard, coke and prunes, flavours of dark chocolate, cokeand dark fruits, much to sweet and a little cloying, leading to a long but unpleasant sweet and sour finish, body has some viscousity. It is too hyped.

Got a big bottle at the Hop Leaf in Chicago to share with a buddy. Delicious! Dominant prune flavor.

Bottle. One of the beers that really got me into beer. Pours a deep, dark delicious brown with a light tan head. It smells like a chocolate pudding in a glass, with a hint of caramel and is just as smooth in the mouth. The flavour is more complex than you might expect from the nose, having touches of cola, fruitloaf, liquorice and muscat. Great beer.

Oh, what a great smell and what a great warming sense of alcohol that just keeps on going when you take the first sip. Litttle on the hoppy and alcoholic side for me, but it’s truely a classic, like a liquer.

Pours a dark ruby copper with a one to two finger tan head. The nose is warm, sherry like oxidation, mild rusty quality, some spice, dark fruit. The flavor shows dark fruit, rummy, raisins, brown sugar, oxidatoin, yeasty. The palate shows a nice carbonation and spicy warmth.

From bottle, pours dark brown with a nice beige head that disappears quickly, aroma of coffee, caramel, nuts and dry fruits, quite balanced, flavor is quite dry and alcohol is too noticable, nuts, caramel and pruns dominate the flavor, sweetness is very high and body is only medium. OK
