| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 12, 2009 Bottle. One of the beers that really got me into beer. Pours a deep, dark delicious brown with a light tan head. It smells like a chocolate pudding in a glass, with a hint of caramel and is just as smooth in the mouth. The flavour is more complex than you might expect from the nose, having touches of cola, fruitloaf, liquorice and muscat. Great beer. mbuisman79 (138), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2009 Oh, what a great smell and what a great warming sense of alcohol that just keeps on going when you take the first sip. Litttle on the hoppy and alcoholic side for me, but it’s truely a classic, like a liquer. emacgee (1864), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 8, 2009 From bottle, pours dark brown with a nice beige head that disappears quickly, aroma of coffee, caramel, nuts and dry fruits, quite balanced, flavor is quite dry and alcohol is too noticable, nuts, caramel and pruns dominate the flavor, sweetness is very high and body is only medium. OK
