Gouden Carolus Classic

Dark brown color, with a tan-colored head, with a spicy nose of orange peels, dates ,figs fruitiness, chocolate malt, roasted malt, and an alcoholic hint in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate, with a sweet roasted malt, burnt brown sugar, bitter chocolatey note, candied orange peels, dark dried fruits, toffeish accent, with a subtle coffee touch, and an alcoholic strenght well hidden behind his sweet malty character, leading towards a sweet dark fruits fruitiness and a shy bitter hops finish.

750ml bottle. Pours a dark amber with a thick frothy head. The aroma is very sweet and spicy. The taste is sweet, with a touch of alcohol, but a nice finish that lingers just enough. Excellent beer.

Bottled. Much compact and creamy head, optimal duration. Intense black color, impenetrable and elegant one. Overbearing alcoholic and complex scent; notes of burned wood, spices... much flowery. Solid and wrapping taste, excessive alcoholic and with medium fizz. Notes of caramel and sweet malt with roasted sugar and liqueur rumors. Interesting but with too many excesses.

mostly diminushing large creamy tan head that tops up a muddy medium brown body. Heavy lacing. Few thick Particules. Bottle conditioned Aroma is heavy roasted , toasted, molasse, creamy, plum, dates, figs while hops are light spruce and yeast is light earth. . Initial flavor is moderate sweet while being balanced afterward Finish is medium. Wonderful body.. creamy and thick texture...

Bottle. Hazy brown coloured with a beige head. Sweet aroma of dried fruits with notes of chocolate and spices. Flavour of dried fruits with notes of alcohol and spices. Good, but could use more body.

Pours dark brown with a mostly receding tan head. Aroma of plums, figs, sweet yeasty bread, earthy toffee malt, and rye. Taste is vinous malts and oak with dark Belgian fruits. Notes of candied fruits, dusty yeast, and bread. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lush carbonation. Subdued alcohol note. Very enjoyable!

Intense and warming with flavors of dried fruits, plums, dates, figs, raisins, molasses, brown sugar, orange rind, and very prominent alcohol fumes that intensifies as it warms. Very sticky, almost cloying mouthfeel. To be sipped slowly and savored, except that slows down the process of ordering and enjoying a second one!

Pours a deep red-prune colour...says its supposed to be copper? Nice fluffy head above the clouds. Smooth malts, molasses, some rum qualities, sugar and lots of dark fruit. very well balanced and heavily enjoyable. Some smooth sweet chocolate undertones for the aftertaste. This is a well balanced and clean, yet chewy brew. Didn’t even realize I had finished it and was a bit sad I didnt get more. the 8% really bounces in after a while on ya:) wooOOoOO
