cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Jul 19, 2009 Sugary molasses, bread, and dark fruity aroma. A good dose of earthy yeast to compliment the scent. Medium brown color, good amount of lacing and a creamy, lasting off white head. Easy sipping, velvety with a medium to thin feel. Flavor compliments the aroma, only not as impressive. Still plenty of depth with a fair amount of dark, fermented fruits, brown sugar, fresh breads, and musty yeast. kassner (429), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 18, 2009 Bottle from 3 Sons. Nice tan head, cloudy brown color, good lacing, lesssweet than some of type, , plenty of fruit, cherries, , and some citrus at end, which nice and lingering. MereLikesBeer (153), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA Jul 14, 2009 I shared a bottle of this with BeerBaron617. I like Belgians a lot, and this one does not dissapoint. I have actually have had this on tap at Ashley’s in AA, and think I prefer it in bottle form. It’s a dark straw yellow with a thick white head. Its aroma is sweet and fruity, apples and white grapes. It’s incredibly bubbly, it’s almost like champagne in mouthfeel and taste. It’s light, and refreshing, perfect for a summer evening. I’ll definitely be having this again! BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Jul 14, 2009 Shared an 11.2 oz bottle with MereLikesBeer. This stuff is pretty tasty. It pours a darker yellow, with big offwhite head. The aroma is of apples and plum. The flavor follows suit, while also having a great champagne like mouthfeel. Good stuff. Cheers! NJJereme (261), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Jul 11, 2009 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a syrupy brownish-black color with a decent off-white head. Combination of fig, coffee, a hint of cherry and maybe even a little dark chocolate. Medium to heavily bodied. A little sharp on the finish. Very enjoyable once it settles in a bit. JesseM (660), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Jul 7, 2009 330mL bottle from a group order. Pours a deep dark copper with a small tan head. No sediment which is something that bugs me about this brewery. But the nose on this is quite nice: booze, roasty malts, caramel crunch, some biscuits, grapes, an odd hoppy aspect, general sweetness, very complex and enticing, I like it. Flavour: Nice! Sweet grapes follow nice bready malts, some pear, toffee, booze but restrained, dates, figs, very tasty! Comes in complex waves, a very multi-layered beer. I was worried this was going to be a sugar bomb but I am very pleasantly surprised. Very unique actually, not at all what one might expect. Seems sort of like a Dopplebock with Belgian ale yeast used to ferment it, which is not at all a bad thing by my palate! MennoO (112), Haarlem, Netherlands Jun 30, 2009 bottle, indeed dark and with medium creamy head. sweet and dark (chocolate, coffee) but not too strong a taste nor too sweet, which makes this very drinkable. improvjock (92), Namegata-shi, Ibaraki-ken, Japan Jun 25, 2009 Pours a dark reddish-brown with medium tan head. Scent of dried fruits. Taste is sweet and strong, but not too powerful as this style sometimes is for me. Not bad.
