Pours a beige head of good duration, with very attractive, curtain lacing, over a clear, reddish brown (SRM 20) body....nose heavy with dried fruits (raisin, cherry, plum) mild toffee, honey, mild molasses, also a tinge of burnt wood (campfire)....tastes initially of sweet toffee malts, then balancing fruits, again raisin and dried cherry, bit of plum, molasses, and a touch of wood balance, ends up slightly sweet....mouth feel is thick and heavy, carbonation relatively high. A lovely brew. bonfunck (149), Waasmunster, Belgium

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 8, 2009 This is how beer is supposed to taste. Grain and yeast along with nuts, dark fruits, and an almost creamy texture. The flavour performs judo chops on your palate, moving in unexpected directions, morphing like a chamaeleon before surprising you with its next strike. Only complaints are it could be a bit more fizzy, and it doesn’t come in a 40. Chef Chad (102), Grand Junction, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 1, 2009 Smells a bit old.. some plum and must. Pours Brown with not head at all. There was little to no carbonation to this beer... I am starting to think that this is a very old bottle. Raisins, plums, burnt sugar and some nuttiness... Bloekie (158), Belgium

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 19, 2009 bottle, pours brown with a tall light tan head. Carmel malt, raisin and fig nose. Dark rock candy, creamy roasted malt, and a light spice in the finish. This is like a mild version of the Van De Keizer, but is a great stand alone strong ale. Extremely impressed. pivnizub (5002), Bochum, Porúří, Germany
