Hazy dark amber colour. Sugary, portwine-like aroma. Rich in malts, spicy with notes of raisin and tofee. Still young but very tasty! blankboy (3250), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2003 This was a very drinkable and enjoyable Belgian Strong Ale that I would definitely recommend to those of you who enjoy this style of beer. It poured a large sized tan head that was very creamy and contained fine-small sized bubbles that lasted for most of the duration of my rating. The body was carbonated, cloudy and the hue was reddish-brown. The nose was malty, caramel notes as well as notes of alcohol at 8% ABV. The flavor consisted of alcohol and caramel and the palate was smooth and medium bodied. There was a fair amount of lacing with this beer. TheBeerGod (3167), Newport News, Virginia, USA

Candy sugar, ripened dark fruits, sweet malts, hints of caramel, and light woody notes. Taste is also sweet and very pleasant. Dark fruits, candy sugar, brown sugar, caramel, malt, and light flowery notes. Some very faint woody notes come through at points as well. Body is medium but very carbonated. Mild creaminess. Finish is more sweet notes - big candy sugar, brown sugar, caramel, malts, and dark fruits. Nice beer! RichardGretton (3153), Leicestershire, England
