Very good carbonation. Great aroma! Rich with dark fruit, black cherries, yeast, molasses, plums, you name it. Bit of brandy also. Color is a dark mahagony brown. Flavor is a bit weak for the great aroma. Malty, yeasty, dry with a nice alcohol warming. Finish is actually short lived and slightly dry and grassy. A good belgian that starts out like a great winner and falls a little short. rederic (1815), montréal, Quebec, Canada

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Aug 18, 2003 Brown colour. Nice head, doesn't stay long, though. Wonderful aroma, reminds of some creamy chocolate dessert I had once (can't remember it's name). The taste is a smooth mix of coffee and chocolate. The alcohol is there but stays in the background.
