I’m beginning to see that most of the beers from Het Anker. Red grape, plum, apricot, fig, caramel, dark candy sugar, whole wheat bread and a light touch of alcohol. Really, just very fruity. The body is appropriately thick without becoming cumbersome. The flavor resides mostly within the realm of sweetness. A touch of roasted or bitter malt (or the crust of wheat bread) pops in and out, trying to balance. The bitterness of the hops also try to enter the fray, without much success. Ultimately, this is a decent Belgian, but one that could use a bit more balance. Take your time with this one, for time will heal all wounds. GreatLibations (1447), Last Supper, Arizona, USA

Full nectar with minimal froth yet ample residual effers. Tastes like grandma’s french toast smothered in maple syrup and fresh berries. Well ballanced. Alcohol is well hidden. Long semi sweet finish. Tastey. robinvboyer (1443), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada

Appearance: It pours a beautiful clear deep ruby beer with a wonderful nicely lasting creamy beige head. Good lacework. Aroma: The nose is of cane sugar, plums, molasses, figs, raisins, dark chocolate, walnuts, vanilla, glue and banana. Rather strong and buttery with some petrol sneaking in. Flavor and palate: Rather sweet taste. Full bodied. A lot of molasses showing up accompanied by banana, raisins and plums. Very smooth. Malty. Low bitterness. Salty yeasty finish with a hint of onion. Overall impression: Decent. Strong nose. Smooth. Far from being great. BoBoChamp (1410), Gent, Belgium
