Bottled. Much compact and creamy head, optimal duration. Intense black color, impenetrable and elegant one. Overbearing alcoholic and complex scent; notes of burned wood, spices... much flowery. Solid and wrapping taste, excessive alcoholic and with medium fizz. Notes of caramel and sweet malt with roasted sugar and liqueur rumors. Interesting but with too many excesses.

Bottle from Phil_l, via Beer Merchants. Thanks Phil! Deep brown with tan head that doesn’t just persist, but continues growing (slightly menancingly) for a good few mintues after the pour, requiring quite a lot of sipping away of foam to prevent glass overflow. Amusing. And the foam, tasty. Black pepper and green walnuts aroma, nice dry spicy chocolate flavor. Palate delicate and bright. Unfortunately my much more detailed tasting notes of this got deleted, so the waxing eloquent this beer deserved is reduced to just what memory held onto. Really enjoyed this one though, and surprised I’ve missed it so far.

Draught: This one poured a dark reddish-brown with a thick creamy off-white head. I was suprised that the aroma was a bit weak for the style. There were some noted of fruits (plums et. al.) and caramel. The tatse was much better than the aroma. It had a caramel sweetness, with fruits in the background. The after-taste was a bit sour/tart. A very nice beer.

Pours an excellent dark brown with good lacing. Aroma is full with loads of dark fruits. The flavour is sweet caramel with a touch of smoked barley.

Don’t think that using the term beautiful could be worn out on this one. My attempt to describe it would come no where near doing it the justice it deserves. My only wish is that I could find some in a state closer than Colorado or wherever it may be. Lovely stuff.

Hazy brick red with a thin solid head. Very vinous and tart aroma, funky with fruit and toasted bread notes. The flavor is like flowers infused in fruit juice. It is a bit on the hot side though. Finishes clean, tart and quenching. Excellent.
