2002 bottle from Bottleworks. Nice dark red color with medium head. Incredible malty aroma, lots of caramel & banana. Very tasty beer....deep, deep malt taste. Tastes of maple syrup and some slight hops coming through. Very carbonated with a thick texture. Leaves an impression on your tongue for a while.

Aroma of chocolate cake, toffee and liqurice. Hazy red/brown colour with a thick head. Very sweet and fulfilling taste, long finish which is both sweet and bitter. Excellent!

July 2006 - Label was Carolus D’Or. Really sweet strong aroma. Nice fluffy head with some lace. Flavor was good, not great. Very sweet from dark fruit (raisins?). Caramel emerged as it warmed. A bit thin in the mouthfeel.

Sweet notes of toffee and caramel are emitted by the pour. A deep mahogany body and a whipped tan head. A cornucopia, = plums, dates, raisins, figs, vanilla, a fresh loaf of honey nut wheat bread. The palate is sensational! It’s so creamy and velvety! Some spices that I can’t identify? Light notes of chocolate, a touch of nutmeg and coriander, maybe lavender? This is a sensational use of malt’s! Yeasty, bring a slender bittersweet finish…… What a great beer! I will certainly be aging a few bottles of this!

Post Note: - Reminiscent notes of a fine Tawny Port, - Enjoyed this brew to the maximum!

#420... My new favorite beer, ordered on the spur of the moment after the waitress told me they were out of Nocturnum. On tap, deep brownish with a grape colored hue. Light head with lacing. Most amazing flavors i have had in a Belgian, with perfectly sweet grapes, plums, and banana at first, changing abruptly to tones of chocolate and cherry before ending in a sweet , yet lightly drying finish. The taste lingered long after i took a sip. As of now this stands as my new #1 until I can get my hands on my old favorite World Wide stout.
