Citrus/orange and spicy nose with some bread dough notes. Starts off with a spicy and citrus note and then goes to a bread, yeasty finish. Creamy texture and finish. Good beer. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England

Delicous. Slight alcohol flavour present but very sweet and lovely. Like Fearne Cotton. Just like the beer though, an obvious dark side. 8 4 8 4 16 Linc (736), Sydney, Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 19, 2002 Starts off with a huge aroma of feral alcohol that blows your head off. Initially nasty as flavour couldn’t get past the aroma. Soon turns to toffee and banana elements as it warms. Spicy finish, not really smooth. Nice deep colour, floaties, little head. Interesting, worth another try. jhumphries69 (731), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 8, 2009 750ml caged&corked bottle. Pours dark slightly murky brown with orange and red highlights. The head pours medium-sized and light tan in color. Lots of small specks of lace are left on the glass. Lots of complex and fruity aromas - bubble gum, cherry, molasses, subtle cola, and subtle licorice - a touch of chocolate and roasted malt. Chewy malt+ester aroma with pleasant streaks of alcohol. Flavor is malty with odd ester profile - cola, soft fruit, very subtle acidity. There is a touch of oxidation and some bready, toasty malts. At mid-palate, esters turn to cherry with some clove phenols. Finish is dry with notes of alcohol, slight balancing bitterness, notes of dark malts, cocoa, and dark fruit. The mouthfeel is slippery and full bodied with a subtle alcohol sting and a soft (surprisingly low) level of carbonation. Overall, a very decent Belgian strong ale - very "Belgian" tasting and decadent. It is missing something - perhaps the low carbonation - that prevents it from being 4+ total score though. The head is obviously creamier then tea. The aroma is primarily fruity. It is like tea but has a bit of spice to it. The taste is very sweet and very much like apple, berries, and green tea. The mouthfeel has a nice spicy feel to it which works quite effectively. Overall I am impressed but not blown away. liinis (722), Helsinki, Finland
