Interesting aroma, very belgian, yeasty, raisins, hops, malt, plums, vanilla and fruits. Taste is very filling, a bit yeasty but balanced out with malt, maybe some fruits balanced out with the bitterness of chocolate or something like that, incredible body and oh so nice on the tongue, world class brew Elwood (684), Leesburg, Virginia, USA

Appearance: Very deep amber brown color with a small, foamy, tan head.
Aroma: Big, boozy, wine-like nose. Red wine notes, wood, and berries.
Flavor: Sweet, malty, and rich. Vinous notes, a bit of red grape, blackberry, sweet dark honey, dark brown sugar, some earth and wood. A touch on the sweet side but still quite delicious.
Palate: High carbonation gives it a somewhat lighter mouthfee and cuts through some of the richness. A medium-short, sweet finish.
Overall: Truly a classic and worth trying for sure. Not quite to the level of a Struise Pannepot or Rochefort 8, but good none the less. Recommended. dornoy (681), Lyngby, Denmark

No sediment which is something that bugs me about this brewery. But the nose on this is quite nice: booze, roasty malts, caramel crunch, some biscuits, grapes, an odd hoppy aspect, general sweetness, very complex and enticing, I like it. Flavour: Nice! Sweet grapes follow nice bready malts, some pear, toffee, booze but restrained, dates, figs, very tasty! Comes in complex waves, a very multi-layered beer. I was worried this was going to be a sugar bomb but I am very pleasantly surprised. Very unique actually, not at all what one might expect. Seems sort of like a Dopplebock with Belgian ale yeast used to ferment it, which is not at all a bad thing by my palate! Otje (668), Leiden, Netherlands

Aromas of fruits, raisins, woody, rum and spices. Flavours are of sweet rum, raisin, lighter(berries) and darker fruits(plums), chocolate, sweet and a bit bitter. Heavy body, chewy beer, which reminded me of the high-gravity trappist beers. Excellent and complex!!! azlondon (667), Fribourg, Switzerland

Good bubbly head with cola dark reddish brown color, semi- transparent. Flavor is sweet balanced with a light dryness. Woody, raisny, strong malt flavor. Seems like it will be too dry but then balances out well on the finish. Good carbonation. Very drinkable. Very good overall.
