This is a quality brew, pouring a deep nutty brown body with a dense, fizzy tan head. The aroma is toffee with raisins and brown sugar and a hint of alcohol with mayhaps a touch of chocolate. Slightly spritzy in the mouth, it delivers a flavor of sweet toffee, dark fruits, burnt brown sugar, some chocolate, a bit of smokey woodiness, and white peppers. The finish is sweet and alcohol warm. Very good.

Dark amber color with a rich head. Flavors of toffee, orange and passion fruit. Finishes tart with a cedary spicy character.

Had this from tap again and somehow it’s ok and somehow it’s not. Especially the look. It’s hazy brown looks like rust and still it’s clear against the light. Strange. Nice creamy off-white head and good lacing. Bit vanilla in the aroma. Sweet, soft, some spices, little licorice in the finish.

Mahogany auburn color, no head or lacing as expected (it was on tap, very cold). Cordimon and dark fruit aromas with caramel nuts & rye bread. Sweet easy drinking flavor, mild grapefruit (not hops), banana, vanilla, licorice. Palate has detectable alcohol and citrus notes. Overall this is an easy drinking BSA, not as harsh as the grand cru but that is the point I guess. It's like a silk blanket with a thread of wool every couple feet. Aged a little with a subtle sweetness.

Deep auburn brown colour. Malty and sweet throughout. Seems pretty well made, but just too sweet and sticky for me. Bottled, Antwerp, September 2003.

Bottle from Party Sorce. Poured brown color with an average light brown fizzy head that lasted with good lacing. Complex dark fruit, caramel and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Full complex dark sweet flavor with solid bittersweet finish and a small bite of alcohol. Good standout brew.

Murky, very dark, brown beer with a vinuous, yeasty, fruity smell. The taste is sweet, warming, alcoholic and satisfying, with a tasty roundedness. The sweetness may be a little overpowering but otherwise very drinkable.

Looks darker than I expected. More complex than I expected, too. Caramel, toffee and hints of fruit. Would be nice to have an aged bottle to try.
