Jan 26, 2004 Sweet notes of toffee and caramel are emitted by the pour. A deep mahogany body and a whipped tan head. A cornucopia, = plums, dates, raisins, figs, vanilla, a fresh loaf of honey nut wheat bread. The palate is sensational! It’s so creamy and velvety! Some spices that I can’t identify? Light notes of chocolate, a touch of nutmeg and coriander, maybe lavender? This is a sensational use of malt’s! Yeasty, bring a slender bittersweet finish…… What a great beer! I will certainly be aging a few bottles of this!

Jul 6, 2007 Pours a deep, cloudy brown with a thick, fluffy off-white head. Rich, malty nose. Strong malt flavor, lightly toasted. Nice alcohol warmth. Very, very nice.

Jan 18, 2008 Dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma is dominated by fruity and yeasty notes, lots of it. Flavor is sweet of dark fruits with some roasted notes and only a sleightly bitter aftertaste

Apr 17, 2006 (04.01.06) 330 mL brown bottle purchased at The Tree pub, Beijing, China. ABV 8.5 %. Bottle states that best before 250408. Poured clear deep reddish amber with small white head. Soft carbonation. Spicy fruit in the nose. Medium-to-full bodied Belgium ale that starts with light malt sweetness and caramel/raisin flavors. Finishes with light malt fade. Alcohol well hidden behind flavors. Definite alcoholic warmth. No funky medicinal phenols or sourness. Smooth and rich tasting with pleasant aroma. A delicious malty Belgium ale.

Sep 27, 2007 Bottle: Poured a reddish brown with a bubbly carbonated tan head. The aroma is deep dark fruit and sweet. The taste is full rich sweet malt, caramel sugary fruit. Awesome beer!

Mar 16, 2007 Poured from a 330ml bottle into a tulip glass, dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma was sweet and fruity. the flavor was dominated by sweet malt and spice with a note of raison bread and just a touch of alcohol bite. A wonderful brew. I will try this again.
