Dec 24, 2006 Bottle, strong sweet malt aroma with hints of dried fruit. Good bubbly head with cola dark reddish brown color, semi- transparent. Flavor is sweet balanced with a light dryness. Woody, raisny, strong malt flavor. Seems like it will be too dry but then balances out well on the finish. Good carbonation. Very drinkable. Very good overall.

Jul 1, 2007 Deep amber color. Great malty aroma. Strong spiciness with hints of molasses and brown sugar. Great mouthfeel and a soft finish. A nice surprise.

Apr 18, 2007 Wow! I thought this was classified as a dubbel but it sure tastes like one! Beautiful dark brown pour with a generous 3 finger tan head. Aroma of yeast and dark fruit with caramel. Taste is strong and near perfect. A sandy mix of dark fruits, yeast, caramel and chocolate. Nice and thick mouthfeel that is perfectly carbonated. I need more of this!

Nice deep ruby-mahagony colored beer, poured clear with a nice foamy tan head that diminishes slowly to a small, delicious lacing one. Fine, alluring aroma with caramel and fine toasred malt, belgian yeast, candy sugar and pleasant fruits. Rich body, fine texture with roundish mouthfeel. Flavor of candy, caramel and toasted malt, moderated fruity esters like plum and raisins. Some roasted character in the fine aftertaste. Direct hit of the style.

May 28, 2008 Bottle. Poured dark red brown with a slight beige head. Great aroma with malt, fruits (pears / bananas) and some smokiness. Full bodied, even sticky; well carbonated. The flavour is bold; predominantly dark malt / toffee with fruity / estery flavours, sweetness and bitterness. There is a very long finish primarily of pleasant bitterness and esters / banana / fruit. It is a very well balanced and enjoyable beer.
