Thick, molasses and alcohol laden nose that is very similiar to Corsendonk Christmas Ale but a tad lighter. This is very carbonated and reminds me of chocolate pudding and english toffee. Yeast is subdued....man, I swear there is a Hershey's Symphony bar somewhere is this. Beautiful belgian ale that is highly underrated on this site. PorterPounder (3147), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Nice dark chestnut pour with a soft, silky khaki head. Warm, enticing liquor-like aroma. Hints of bourbon and brandy - whiff of molasses. Flavor is sweet and full-bodied. Pick up hints of toffee, brandy, molasses, caramel - it’s all good. Rich, luxuriant mouthfeel. Alchohol hidden well. Excellent Belgian - probably passed this one by several times because I thought it and the Grand Cru were the same - glad I investigated!

Aroma of caramel, toffee, cinnamon, raisin, apple peel, and toasted marshmallow. The flavor is quite impressive with tangy toffee, raisin, chocolate, and rich caramely bread. Ethanol highlights the finish, playing off the sweet flavors nicely. Not as good as their Grand Cru but still a fine beer. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA

Honestly reminded me of a Westy 8 at times but slightly sweeter. It was sweet without seeming overpowerful in sugar acids. cbeers21 (578), Miami, Florida, USA

Figgy, coffee, toffee, chocolate malts pervade both taste and aroma. Juicy fruits are also present, berries, plums and raisins. There is a cherry alcohol warmth and a strange, almost coconut like finish. Nice brew.
