Jan 31, 2007 330ml bottle. Hazy brown hue with defined ruby highlights. Thick, creamy off-white head. Sweet smokey nose. Strong caramel and toffee aromas. Hints of cooked sugar and cinnamon spices. Apparent alcohol nose. Full bodied with a smooth malty sweetness. Toffee notes with a warming alcohol note. Burnt sugar sweetness. Cocoa. Slight citrus lemony yeast note. Long and sticky, but on a lighter note. These guys make fantastic beers!

May 18, 2007 750mL, no date. Pours a clear deep ruby with a three finger creamy beige head in my Piraat tulip. Excellent retention. Aroma of candied plums and juicy raisins, yeast, brown sugar, slightly musty, and some light cinnamon or nutmeg. Flavor is more musty and not as sweet up front as I was esxpecting. Spicy alcohol and some tangy fruitiness show up as well as some fall leaves. Lightly sweet roasty finish. Overall, the alcohol is masked well. Moderate to high carbonation with a full body. Very good beer--nice and complex.

Apr 1, 2006 Pours honey brown with sweet french toast on the nose. Full nectar with minimal froth yet ample residual effers. Tastes like grandma’s french toast smothered in maple syrup and fresh berries. Well ballanced. Alcohol is well hidden. Long semi sweet finish. Tastey.

Jul 31, 2006 Bottle at Delirium. Brown, full head. Malt dominated and very rich. Very unlike other belgian strongs and I like it.

Aug 21, 2008 0,75 l bottle. Medium, liht beige head is a bit soapy. Liquid is deep red and hazy. Fruity aroma has banana, peach, yeast and caramel malts. A hint of roastedness and burned sugar. The finis has clear nutty aromas. Flavor malty and has sweetness of dried fruits and a bit sourness in the finish. Not much bitterness. Carbonated but soft mouthfeel, thick and a bit sticky in the finish. Overall a great beer.

Oct 30, 2009 750 ml bottle. Deep dark reddish brown colour, creamy light brown head. Sweet, toffee-like malty aroma with vanilla, dark fruits and yeast. Sweet, syrupy malty flavour with dark fruits and spices. Warming, smooth, very pleasant and nicely complex.

Sep 26, 2009 Confronts your nose with aromas of wood, chocolate and malt. Taste is a plethora of greatness. Caramel, toffee, malt, all play with your mouth. Strong alcohol taste that bites and leaves a strong aftertaste. Very nice beer that you can sit, relax and enjoy.

Nov 26, 2009 Intens brown beer with light beige foam on top. Aroma is rich with some caramel, candi sugar, raisins and malts. Taste is smooth, with a rich caracter of malts, brown sugars, fruits and an intersting bittering in the finale.
