Cloudy murky brown color, no head, soft -nearly flat carbonation. Nice Yeast malt, caramel and pineapple taste- what a mixture. Ligth but fullmouth. Great. notalush (2687), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 9, 2003 Nice compact head on an inviting copper/amber body. Aroma of alcohol, raisins and sugars. Flavor is subtle (perhaps even "subdued") but complex. Vinous initially, then many flavors push their way through - apples, grapes, raisins - then come heavier, maltier flavors, with caramel and maybe even brown sugar. Warm, medium bodied. A nice little belgian indeed. thegreenrooster (1842), St.louis, Missouri, USA

Flavor is much of the same but even better. Toffee, dark fruits sugar and nutmeg all come to mind. Alcohol is there at the end but does not overpower. eboats (897), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Bottled. Pours dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malt, strong sweet belgian yeast, and a hint of bubble gum. Flavor is sweet, smooth malt, slightly buttery, and really reminds me of Westmalle Dubbel. Body had the perfect balance for a belgian. Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 8, 2005 This is a quality brew, pouring a deep nutty brown body with a dense, fizzy tan head. The aroma is toffee with raisins and brown sugar and a hint of alcohol with mayhaps a touch of chocolate. Slightly spritzy in the mouth, it delivers a flavor of sweet toffee, dark fruits, burnt brown sugar, some chocolate, a bit of smokey woodiness, and white peppers. The finish is sweet and alcohol warm. Very good.

Pours a beige head of good duration, with very attractive, curtain lacing, over a clear, reddish brown (SRM 20) body....nose heavy with dried fruits (raisin, cherry, plum) mild toffee, honey, mild molasses, also a tinge of burnt wood (campfire)....tastes initially of sweet toffee malts, then balancing fruits, again raisin and dried cherry, bit of plum, molasses, and a touch of wood balance, ends up slightly sweet....mouth feel is thick and heavy, carbonation relatively high. A lovely brew. strings (361), Sydney, Australia

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 24, 2007 330ml bottle best before 15 02 2010. Liqueur-like nose to it, oaky, rich dark chocolate, strong roast coffee, cinamon and clove spices, some alcohol. Pours a reasonably clean dark bronze body with a dense offwhite head and lace. Body is far richer than the aroma would suggest, thick, emmensly rich, again, liqueur-like. Some dark chocolate roasted malt flavours come through, with a good amount of cinamon spice, caramel sweetness and dark fruits. Definately a dessert beer, very nice indeed.
