Dec 15, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours brown with a nice off-white head. Aroma of light fruit, raisins, and brown sugar. Flavor is full and rich with sweet malts, caramel, dark fruits, figs, raisins, and some spicy yeast very well balanced. An excellent belgian strong.

Mar 21, 2007 Very pleasant indeed. Fruity with a hint of nuts and pudding. Creamy in the mouth and a lovely lingering finish.

Apr 20, 2008 small bottle. aroma was a bit subdued, perhaps bc it was too cold. Looks real great. dark and clear. Flavor is fantastic. quite sweet, but lots of interesting stuff going on underneath. alc. burns you in the aftertaste - sweeet. good mouthfeel, almost perfect for the style imo. perhaps i should’ve rated it higher than this. but somehow overall it’s "only" a 16.

Feb 18, 2007 Updated: Oct 16, 2007Bottle from Uto. Pours a lovely mahogany with orange highlights and a hearty tan head. Words do little justice for the appearance. Aroma of raisins, caramel and plum with an underbelly of yeast and rum. Sweet to spicy taste of toasted malts, caramel and berries. Wonderful full body, this is glorious stuff!
Re-rate - Draught @ Brasserie Het Anker. Deep amber with a creamy malt head that left a great lacing. Aroma of malt, yeast, dark fruits and chocolate. May 24, 2007 330ml bottle best before 15 02 2010. Liqueur-like nose to it, oaky, rich dark chocolate, strong roast coffee, cinamon and clove spices, some alcohol. Pours a reasonably clean dark bronze body with a dense offwhite head and lace. Body is far richer than the aroma would suggest, thick, emmensly rich, again, liqueur-like. Some dark chocolate roasted malt flavours come through, with a good amount of cinamon spice, caramel sweetness and dark fruits. Definately a dessert beer, very nice indeed.

Jul 19, 2009 Sugary molasses, bread, and dark fruity aroma. A good dose of earthy yeast to compliment the scent. Medium brown color, good amount of lacing and a creamy, lasting off white head. Easy sipping, velvety with a medium to thin feel. Flavor compliments the aroma, only not as impressive. Still plenty of depth with a fair amount of dark, fermented fruits, brown sugar, fresh breads, and musty yeast.

Jul 18, 2009 Bottle from 3 Sons. Nice tan head, cloudy brown color, good lacing, lesssweet than some of type, , plenty of fruit, cherries, , and some citrus at end, which nice and lingering.
