Sweet dark fruits and caramel on the nose, with similar on the palate with malt notes, and all very well balanced. A good Belgian ale.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 20, 2009 330ml Bottle: Pours a hazy copper, very thick marshmallow slightly off-white head atop. Aroma offers quite a nice hit of pine off the top, sour stone fruits, chocolate, caramel, butterscotch.. wow, it just keeps coming. Great stuff, although very little alcohol in the nose. First sip is just pure melted, caramelized sugar with peaches, cooked figs, raisins, a sharp bite of what seems like peppery cloves, and hints of hops alongside the warming alcohol. So complex, very sweet, just a great beer. StinkBall (76), Asheville, USA

Smooth peach flavor with a bitter aftertaste. Decent beer but there are better Belgium beers out there. Thylacine (265), Tasmania, Australia

Rich, sweet and fruity, (apple and plums), caramel, slightly spicy,a bit of alcohol. There is a bit of hoppiness and bitterness in the background but it is predominantly a sweet beer. haelduksf (2), Toronto, Ontario, Canada does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2009 Pours a fine hazy brown with little carbonation. Aroma is like wine, with date and banana notes. Taste is smooth and spicey, with a little acid bite under a lot of sweet, ripe fruit. Palate is a bit cloying. High gravity is well hidden. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 12, 2009 Pours clear amber with a creamy off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel, honey, sugar and cherries. Very sweet flavor that almost attacks the senses. It has an almost sticky texture and medium carbonation. It finishes again very sweet. Too much sweetness involved in this one for me. judasbeer (264), Budapest, Hungary
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 11, 2009 Pours ambery, ruby red color with well-lacing brownish froth. Dried cherry esters with mild clove spiciness and some weird leather or bubble gum-like yeast profile. Absolutely dark fruity malt-owned flavor profile. Sweet brandy-coke blend like initation with dryish molasses, sweet roots, caramelized figs, alcoholic prunes and so on....Easy, quaffable body with slight alcohol warmth, oily texture, mild carbonation. It’s bold and complex, but also very easy and refreshing. Nice stuff. LordDrachen (18), Italy
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Deep red/brown color, cappuccino-like head, average persistence.
Not so strong and long aroma. Caramel, fruits: prunes, berries, a bit of coffee/chocolate and alcohol.
Sweet taste with a not so strong bitter in the end.
The body is rather full.
I liked it, rather good balance.
