Linus_Stick (1471), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 15, 2008 Blah. This is a typical over the top hot Belgian beer. Probably would be a lot better with a year or two on it. Aroma was huge. Vinuous backbone with sweet caramel malt and alcohol jumping out. Pour was a decent murky brown with no bubbles and a one finger tan head. Taste was too hot and strong. Strong Vicks Vapo-Rub, caramel malt intertwined with hot alcohol and little carbonation. daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA Jul 14, 2008 This beer rocks. It’s got everything a strong, brown ale should have. The right balance of flavor, alcohol, sweetness and body that makes a Belgian strong ale totally drinkable. dunkpigen (243), Kolding, Denmark Jul 13, 2008 Bottles at Århus Ølfestival 2008 (tastet at the same time). 2008 version: Pours a nice dark ruby red with almost no head. Aroma is vinious, fruity aswell as the flavour, but here it is a bit to vinious (7, 4, 7, 3, 16 - 3,7).
2004 version: Pours a nice dark ruby red with almost no head. Aroma of wonderful plum, vinious and caramel. Nice balanced flavour and body with plum, caramel and viniousity (8, 4, 9. 4, 18 - 4,3) NachlamSie (1307), Tennessee, USA Jul 11, 2008 750ml 2007 bottle, best before March 28, 2017. Pours murky dark brown with virtually no head in a Trappist glass. Lacing is sparse, but clingy. The aroma is sweet and fruity, very well balanced, and quite strong. Notes of berries, coriander, grape are all apparent. It’s quite juicy and devoid of any alcohol burn in the nose. Mouthfeel is lively and prickly with a sticky fig sweetness highlighted by spiced notes. Some earth, grape, graham crackers, berries, and a little heat are found in the complex flavor. I really enjoy the way this one comes together. maniac4016 (86), sky ute, Illinois, USA Jul 6, 2008 like this about as much as getting ass-raped in a turkish prison, smells of sweatty arm-pits & turkish cheese, hope the fucking whores of turkey smell better than this vile creation, fuck them in the ass if they dont
