The nose is of figs, vitamin tablets, raisins, molasses, nutmeg and plum. Rather sweet and fruity. Quite a lot of molasses and apples in the taste. Both malty and yeasty - nicely balanced. It reminds me a bit of ’’Uniebroue la Terrible’’. Pleasantly woody. Notes of walnuts, vitamin tablets and figs showing up. Slightly lactic. Not much lacework. Full bodied. Sweet. Some alcohol appearing with the swallow. The finish is surprisingly good and quite yeasty with hints of rasins and mince pies. Pleasant, but definetely not a wonderful beer in my opinion. I don’t share the same taste as Charles the fifth. But I agree on his following quote by the way: ’’Paris is not a city, but a universe’’. Thanks a lot bov for this beer! Poured into a chalice a brown/mahongy color, very nice carbonation (POP upon opening), nice creamy off-white head, nice creamy sticky lacing and small islands abound. The nose is malty, yeasty, lots of dark fruits, and caramel. The taste is absolutly delicious, sweet, malty, slight yeast tones, figs, raisins, plums, caramel. Nice little chewiness, smooth as hell, alcohol is hidden pretty well, nice warming effect. Full body, complex brew. Very drinkable, AWESOME brew, highly recommended.
