2001 vintage, 750 ml bottle. Oh yes, this is so good!!! Pours a nice amber coclor, somewhat hazy with an offwhite head. Wonderful aroma from plums and other dried sweet fruits lovely maltiness with nutty tones, toffee and cream. Flavors brings the plums again, fruity and very malty, toffee notes before turning into a bitter finish. Grat lacing on the glass and a full palate. Incredibly good, this one is definately a new favourite. Makes me wishing it was the 24th of February alot more often...

Oct 6, 2008 Pours dark brown with reddish highlights and a large off-white head. Very sweet aroma of malt & dark fruits. Flavor to match with a large caramel and sugar finish with a touch of vanilla.

Pours a slighly hazy dark copper with a big off-white head that shows great retention and lots of lacing. The aroma is dominated by the sweet sugary malts and dark fruits - figs, raisins, grapes. The taste is just as sweet as the aroma would indicate. Huge caramel and candy sugar sweetness with vanilla and dark fruit. The mouthfeel is sticky and the sweetness just coats the mouth from the first sip. This is a very complex and enjoyable Belgian ale.

Oct 4, 2008 Dark (brown to black), hazy. Both the aroma and taste is extremely complex. Hints of butter, choclate and soy in the aroma. Flavor is both sweet (fruity) and salty (soy).

Sep 27, 2008 Summary: I can respect it for its complexity, but find it generally unpleasant. Aroma: Balsamic vinegar, some caramel and floral notes. Appearance: Clear garnet red-brown, a finger of tan head vanishes without lace. Flavor: Very understated at the front, builds in strength and complexity. Despite the aroma, alcohol, wood, and bitterness are the primary flavors. Caramel and fusel elements play a secondary role. Palate: Dry with alcohol warming. Some thickness in the middle.
