Sep 14, 2009 Pours a very hazy blonde with a small to medium white head with plenty of big attractive bubbles. The aroma is mildly hoppy, mildly spicy, with light floral notes and is dominated by a citrus character. The flavor has pleasant spicy hops with some citrus and some light alcohol. There is a musty character and the beer is largely dry. Oh yeah and there is an apple flavor too.
Not to bad.

Jan 22, 2009 I become more impressed with Gouden Carolus beers every time I pop one open. They’re never superb, but they’re always very tasty, and they have a liveliness that is just great. This one is no exception. I don’t get a ton of hops out of it, though. Pours like a champagne - a *huge* head, even with a slow pour - though it dissipates quickly. Very light golden color. Apple cider (Martinelli’s) and pear in the aroma, along with some hops and a honey sweetness. The hops come through more powerfully in the flavor, which presents a bitterness to counter what is otherwise a very sweet beer. Well-balanced, effervescent... this one would be great to celebrate an occasion on a budget, as it’s really very much like champagne. Good stuff!

Jul 14, 2008 Had on tap at Bier Passie weekend in Antwerp, 6/20. Pours hazy gold with an aroma of fresh hops and funk. taste similar with additional notes of breads and spice. Interesting, complex ale.

Nov 28, 2008 On tap at the Kulminator, and bottled at Granville Moore’s. A well-hopped, bitter and refreshing beer with faint hints of citrus. Nice one. Better on tap.

Mar 21, 2009 750 ml corked bottle. Beautiful hazy golden color with a huge fluffy white head. Banana, yeast, and lemon aromas. Champagne like carbonation and a very light mouthfeel. Alcohol, biscuit, yeast, candy, and fruit in the palate. Finish is a lingering hop bitterness. This is a great beer that has many layers of flavor. Highly drinkable. I am not giving up my Duvel, but this is a good beer!

Jan 13, 2009 From the bottle pours a soft gold, great clarity with a tall small bubbled white head. Dry and crisp with a soft fruity finish. Hops provide a soft bitterness, hints of citrus pair nicely against the yeast esters. Great balance and oh so drinkable.

Aug 9, 2009 Bottle.Big white head in the glass, remaining long. Fruity aroma, like apple and orange peels. Hoppy in the nose. tastes fresh, with lots o carbonization, a hoppy bitterness, and a long finish.

Nov 26, 2009 Hazygolden colour with big white head on top. Soft aroma of cake and bread, some yeast and a fine kick of floral hops. Taste is mild, with some touches pepper, yeast and refined hops.
