Commercial Description:
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a medium foamy head. Fruity yeasty aroma with spicy notes. Flavour is first candy, fresh fruit, spices and caramel and then comes the hops that gives this beer a very long bitter end. Interesting BSA!

Draught at Tyler’s in Durham. Nice hoppy belgian with a balanced hop profile. Very dry overall, without much sweetness. Good stuff.

Courtesy of argo0. Cloudy pale body with a huge pillowy white head. The nose is herbal, floral hops, pepper, golden fruits, dough and honey. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter with herbs, flowers, pepper, dough, hay and golden raisins. Medium/full body is round with high carbonation.

750 mL bottle. Pours cloudy golden yellow with huge sticky white head. The aroma is very floral with some hay and grass hops, honey, perfumy yeast, and a little bit of tropical fruit. The flavor is floral and spicy to begin with, but quickly takes on an assertive hoppy bitterness. There’s a deep, rich yeasty backbone to this beer that I really enjoy. It finishes dry and herbal. Pretty good stuff.

Gigantic white head that filled the whole glass upon initial pour. Whipped cream like consistency. Light golden color with an opaque wit beer like quality. Aroma floral hops and champagne. Flavors are also floral and fruity, some banana, cloves, wax and orange peel. Head is bitter and the body is a bit sweeter. Palate is medium thick and slightly dry on the finish. A hoppy saison like beer. Nice.
