Commercial Description:
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma.

Sample at Cheeky Monk in Denver. The beer pours golden yellow with a medium thick and fluffy white head that recedes slowly. Aroma of yeast, grassy hops and spice. Medium body with flavors of yeast, melon, sweet malt and hops. The finish is dry with a banana and clove aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tap @ Front Door: Amber color, nice head and lacing. Nose of sweet caramel and plum, fig, brown sugar. The flavor is mellow and earthy with some dusty hallertau and mellow yeast esters decent Belgian. A little earthy for my tastes but solid.

750ml shared by argo0 pours cloudy straw yellow with a decent sized white head. Inviting nose of dry, pungent, minerally green hops and a light note of saison-like yeast funkination. Moderately bitter, medium to heavy dryness develops over the back, very fresh, green and dusty overall, supremely delicious and vibrant, with a medium to full body but a lightness on the back that it difficult to rare to find in American IPAs. Well-made.

Het Anker is one of those breweries who always gets it right. While I don’t enjoy this as much as I do Chouffe Houblon, I like it quite bit. There is a lot of hops throughout, the flavor and the aroma, and they have citrus and wildflower character. The yeast is prominent and obviously Belgian. Medium sweet malt balances the hops. A cloudy gold beer with a tall, thick head.

Bottle. Yeast and hop aroma. Hazy golden with a thick white head. Very nice full flavoured body with the typical belgian yeast flavors. Notes of citrus flavours. Very nice complex bitter palate. Very nice beer even if it is a little bit too carbonated for my taste.

Hazy amber body with a superb foamy white head. Aroma of resiny hop with bready malt and some fruity perfume. Oily texture with a fine malt based flavor, but after a second the hop comes and rules the whole beer with their own resiny and citrussy character. Strong personality.

750ml Bottle (Bitter Virtue,Southampton) - Golden in colour, Very floral aroma with dry hoppy notes, peach and a biscuity element. Delicious fresh hoppy taste with grapefruit, lemon, tea and rather suprisingly a slight aniseed hint. Excellent.
