Commercial Description:
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma. 50 IBU / 18.6 Plato

Fresh as hell 750 bottle shared by willblake. Fuck yeah kickass massive fluffy white head on top of a nice light coppery amber body with intense yet delicate carbonation. Aroma is crazy with intense doughy bready malts followed up with massively assertive citrusy and floral hops. Flavor is zesty, spicy, earthy with tons of bready fresh pils malts and a very light sweetness, with just tons of fresh floral and lightly ciitrusy hops. Clean and crisp finish leaves room for a tacky drying bitterness which is awesome. Wow- i need to buy lots of this, since the price is also very reasonable.

Bottle shared by Crosling, thanks dude. Poured a lightly hazy golden-yellow color with a towering, rocky white head that hung around nicely and left some spotty lacing. Aroma of lightly funky, earthy aroma with a brash yeastiness and strong fruit (orange, tangerine, peach) and a nice earthy hoppiness. Smooth, crisp entry with some light funk and barnyard (straw, wheat) with some light citrus (orange, lemon) leading into a moderate hoppiness and a dry yeastiness and a soft peach undertone. Smooth mouthfeel with a nice crispness on the finish. Awesome beer, I need to get a couple bottles.

Bottle. Head is initially huge, frothy, white, fully lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), lightly to moderately yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of lemon zest, pepper, and gum. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Easily the best beer out of Anker in a long, long time...I really didn’t think they had a beer like this in ’em, but it’s a winner. This is their answer to Dupont Moinette, quite frankly, and pretty much just as good (or at least this particular bottle is...more samples are required!!!). Beautifully dry with nice yeasty sourdough-style tartness working in tandem with the bittering hops. Bright and complex aromas, huge lasting head, fluffy mouthfeel...what more could you really ask for? Why can’t more American brewers make stuff like this?!

Some hops, maybe a bit soapy in aroma. Pours with a gigantic amount of head. A hop bite shows up first, then slowly turns into more of a spice flavor. A smooth non-bitter finish. Quite nice. Maybe the best I’ve had from these guys.

Bottle: The aroma is a great combination of banana, pineapple, cotton candy, yeast, spice, and floral hops. It pours a slightly hazy gold with lots of fine sediment with a large creamy white head with great retention that leaves behind soapy clumps of lacing. The flavor starts with moderate banana, bubblegum, light pineapple, cotton candy, and faint yeastiness. The finish is a nice balance of floral hops, orange peel, faint pepper, and a touch of spice. As it warms, I do detect a hint of alcohol. Medium bodied with lively and soft carbonation.

Pours murky, wit like, bright yellow with a large marang like pure white head. Rings of lace. Lots of dusty yeast and a very perfumey, floral, and herbal hop character. Very nice. Just loaded with hop flavor. A little grassy. A little citrus. Really nice use of hops. Medium light body with high carbonation. Dry finish. Really good beer. Looks kind of under rated.

A lovely, frothy, dandelion hued pour with a mountainous rocky foam. Crushed red pepper, almond pastry, soft coriander, pungent clove and a gorgeous mist of floral-herbal hops in the aroma; the spiciness, the sweetness, and the bitterness delicately woven together, and each soft as silk. It couldn’t be further from quiet, though; it’s like a garden of grain and sharp herbs and flowers that’s presently blossoming all at once.

Lemongrass, lavender, and coriander flavor; each with a candied kind of smooth sweetness on it. Fresh grass. Pistachio-leaning malt. Cotton candy. It tends to get somewhat musky with the interaction of herbal-tinted hops, yeasts and its considerable alcohol, and while this is a likable characteristic, it dulls the brightness of the hops somewhat. The sweetness it offers in the middle is quite crispy and autumnal, like lavender and fire-roasted chestnuts, and gloriously dry while still sumptuous in impression. Consistent shades of fruit tend to be soft and sunny; white peaches is what it makes me think of most often.

Full and effervescent texture at first, becoming somewhat more lean toward the finish, where a lovely saffron and floral perfume dryness spreads out, leaving a soft bittersweetness that while dry remains quite flavorful and memorable even long after. Every element is in place for a refreshing, but fulsome and interesting at every turn experience. A new favorite!

Clap! Clap! Clap!
