Commercial Description:
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma.

Gift from Rickgordon. 75cl corked and caged bottle. Pours out in a hazy pale golden colour with a rich and lasting sticky white foam. Sweet aroma of corn, yellow apples, red apple-skins, orange-peels, white peer and alcohol. Dryish full flavour of oranges, banana, herbs, yeast and wet grass with undertones of salty licorice, lemon-zest, soap and soil. Dryish finish of oranges, grass and crackers. Despite it’s name; this is not a Belgian hop bomb, it’s leaning more to the Duvel territory

Hazy yellow golden body with good size lasting white head. Yeast, citrus and hops on the nose. Taste is smooth, not too full, lemon again, pepper and a touch of spice.

Some bubblegum, caramel, and tart spice on the nose. Frothy, soapy, sudsy white head resting atop a murky, hazy piss-golden colour. Taste is of bitter sweet taffy, steamed grass, white wine, copper pennies, and a sort of oaky fruity tartness that I can only pinpoint vaguely as rhubarb. This is a very hoppy, finely balanced ale. Enjoyable!

Bottle @ KBF in Geel. Cloudy yellow beer, big frothy white head. Aroma of hops and malts. Flavour is hoppy, malty and a bit fruity. Bitter finish. Medium bodied. A bit one-dimensional, but a nice one for the hop-heads. Certainly one of the better beers of GC.

Bottle. Hazy light orange body, with a huge white head. Aroma is yeast and alcohol. Flavor is fruit, spices, yeast and alcohol. The flavor is way better than the aroma.

The color is light gold color with a good carbonation. The head is very thick when poured. The beer is hoppy for a Belgain Ale but really that hoppy when it comes to an IPA or a Pale Ale. I was slightly disappointed on the lack of hops. This beer did not stand out from most blond strongs.
