Pours a murky golden colour with a big head and almost no carbonation.
Very clear and fruity sweet smell.
Oranges, apple and raisins there, also some others smells I can’t exactly define.
Taste is very fruity and welcoming, great flavour and goes down with a slight bit of warmth.

Opened with a pop, small foam snake appeared soon afterwards. Needed 2 glasses it was so full of head. Hazy straw colour, when the glass-sized head had settled - there was no chance to minimise the yeast that came over. Sweet fruity aroma - apples and peaches - at first. Pleasant pale malts come over next, then a touch of flowery perfume. Very light and crisp. Unbelievably soft palate, the carbonation that created the head doesn’t fizz in the mouth at all. Loads of retronasal esters, almost bubble-gummy in places. Taste is full, sweet, and soft light malts. Hops are very restrained, quite clear but not imposing, altogether pretty well balanced. Finish is pale malts and slightly grassy noble hops. Covers the alcohol very well, there’s no hint of any kick to this at all. Stunning beer. Narnad (689), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2008 Found a bottle of this recently for cheap. Poured a very hazy orange color, almost like unfiltered apple juice. Aroma is very strong of raw banana and some sweet hops. Flavor is very complex. Starts off very sweet of pear and moves into a slightly spicy clove flavor. Ends with a very smooth hops bitterness and leaves an almost Hallertauer hops flavor at the end. Very fine carbonation and not a lot of alcohol taste for a 9% beer. One weird aspect of this beer is that it makes your taste buds feel as if baby orajel was rubbed on them. Tongue is not numb, only your taste buds. But this feel eventually subsides. Another aspect of this beer is the fact that the banana and clove flavor don’t determine its flavor. Very well rounded, smooth and surprisingly heavy beer. Great beer! malrubius (977), Valley Stream, New York, USA

Yeasty spicy orange tobacco aroma. Sweet honey orange spicy with mild tobacco bitterness and lingering orangy spiciness. Medium body and carbo. Nice mouthfeel. Very good. I know this is a great beer, having had it many times. But, once again, tryng to get fresh beer around here in Long Island is very difficult.
