Gout d’alcohol et de jus de peches. BelgiskOlklub (397), Viby J, Denmark Aug 1, 2008 Bottle 75 cl. Creamy white lasting head with good lacing. Hazy yellow/orange body.Good spicy aroma of coriander and oranges? Medium body, oily feel, average carbonation, bitter. Crispy! Well balanced flavor and a fresh finish. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Jul 31, 2008 Pours a hazy yellow color with a healthy white head. It foamed out of the bottle when I opened it, just like papajohn. It smells of apples, whiskey, caramel, spice, and apples, with a floral hint. The taste is very good with heavy caramel apple flavor and an alcohol presence that hints of whiskey. Good tripel. papajohn (1054), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA Jul 28, 2008 Updated: Oct 18, 2008330 ml bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar: Started foaming out of the bottle when I popped the cap. Hazy pale peach color with a small fading white head. Aroma is honey and over ripe tropical fruit. Flavor starts tropical fruit sweet followed by spice, caramel and a medium dry orangy finish. Medium body is creamy with lively carbonation. note666 (282), Eindhoven, Netherlands Jul 28, 2008 330 ml botlle. yellow golden colour. white head. not really my kind of taste, but tripels aren’t anyway... BoBoChamp (1334), Gent, Belgium Jul 22, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, hazy, good head, very good brew, but not a topper Skeegle (476), Maryland, USA Jul 16, 2008 I wasn’t extremely impressed by this beer, especially after having Het Anker’s other excellent beers. This one was just pure yeastiness. It was like a honey drenched yeast bomb. I had high expectations, but I guess abbey tripel isn’t a style of mine, as I have had bad experiences in the past. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jul 11, 2008 750ml bottle: Shimmering yellow pour with a three-finger whipped head that settles into a firm cap on top. The aroma is all yeast and honey - lots of ripe banana, pear, sweet apple - wrapped in an ethery blanket. Big, chewy mouthfeel. Hot alcohol vapor fills the mouth with each sip. Dirty, but sweet, malts offer honey and sugary toffee while the fruit esthers continue to bombard the tongue. Cool down the fusels in this and it would be more enjoyable. As is, still darn good.
