OSLO (825), Perth, Australia May 16, 2008 [Bottle] Pours dark golden with a big white head. Aroma is really lemony with a hint of banana. Taste is yeasty, with a good deal of malt, and a bit of coriander. Medium-thick mouthfeel with a long finish that is slightly dry. The dominance of the lemon in the aroma didn’t really work for me, otherwise a fairly good beer. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA May 14, 2008 Hazy, dirty blonde. Herbal, dry floral aroma. Lively, meadow spices of coriander and green pepper, with zesty citrus flashes of lemon and orange. Banana eases it back a little with some conventional sweetness. Flavor is a slightly sterile warmth at first of honey and fruit liqueur, wholly bland and very dry. Peppery alcohol and overripe fruits with a type of stale citrus vodka intimiation that suggests the brittleness and obesity of age. Very weighty palate; mostly absent carbonation in this bittersweet syrup. Smacks of cotton candy and unsweetened vanilla coffee syrup. Chases hot. A slow gathering of dust on this probably once lovely triple, even in a short amount of time. moelikebeer (219), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA May 13, 2008 Corked bottle. Foggy, light golden pour with a thick bubbly head. Slightly spicy aroma, with hints of coriander and yeast. Flavor is malty and yeasty with notes of coriander and citrus. Medium body with plenty o’ carbonation. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA May 11, 2008 Clear golden pour with a huge, bubbly champagne-like white head. Sweet, fruity, yeasty aroma. Flavor is much the same with a big alcohol presence. Spicy and good. A nice triple. cyrenaica (435), Milton, Ontario, Canada May 6, 2008 330ml bottle

I tried this beer on April 25, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a solid orangy-gold colour with a very thin white head. The aroma was that of sweet malt and some yeast. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, and highly carbonated. The flavour was candied malt, some hoppy grapefruity hints, and a little more yeast. A very good beer. AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA May 4, 2008 Updated: May 28, 2008Pours hazy golden orange with sediment floaters. Huge, fluffy off white head. Nose and flavor is sweet and spicy, as is the flavor, with citrus and fruit sweetness. Very lively on the palate, and a finish that is smooth, and somehow just dissappears. plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark May 1, 2008 Bottle. Hazy golden colour in the galss with a huge pearly ehite head. Heavy spicy aroma of coriander, citrus and tropical fruits. In mouth a pearly texture with large carbonation. Taste of spices, fresh fruit, and alcohol. jhumphries69 (717), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Apr 28, 2008 33cl bottle. Pours a hazy gold with highlights of tan and dirty yellow. The head pours up white in color and medium in size. Small spots of lace are left on the glass but not much. The aroma is richly perfumey with resiny, oily, spicy aromatics and some notes of sweet fruit and cakey malts. The fruity aromas are hard to place - tropical, perhaps some citrus, fruity liqueur (thanks to the hint of ethanol in the aroma), and made more interesting with a touch of exotic spice. The flavor is complex, just like the nose. There is a strong fruitiness at the tip of the tongue - melons, papaya, mango, pineapple, and citrus. As the beer travels slightly back - squarely between tip of tongue and mid-palate - spices emerge along with tartness and a touch of sharp alcohol flavors. At mid-palate, there is an earthy bitterness combined with bitterness from the alcohol which balance sweet malts, tropical fruit esters, and a light peppery spice. A bready malt flavor also becomes apparent, including a strong taste of wheat. The finish is crisp and long, fairly dry, and alcoholic. The mouthfeel is crisp and rich - both well carbonated and oily and somewhat thick. As the beer warms the flavor of ethanol strengthens, giving the finish a boozy character. Overall, a wonderfully complex Belgian Tripel.
