Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

On tap at Brasserie Beck in Washington DC. Nice golden color with a big fluffy head. Slightly hoppy, clean finish and easy to drink. A touch harsh on the back end though. Good beer

Poured from bottle 4/2008. Lemon cake aroma - nice. Big head, cloudy gold color. Great combo of flavors - bread, citrus, spice , pepper, banana. Hop and wood in the aftertaste. Great finish. Terrific.

Orange pour very neat colour, head thin back to mild froth cover, very ample carbonation.Aroma, stonefruit, malt, citrus, clove, van sweetness throughout,a lovely mellow tasting triple, the 9% al vol is hidden by good flavours.Hints of coriander at the finish, bit of clove and ginger, like this range of ales.

Pours a clear light gold with big fluffy, soapy white head. Strong belgian grassy hop nose along with peachy sweet fruits. Very well carbonated, perhaps too much, on the palate, starting with honey golden malts before a sharp, catty, vegetable-like hop bitterness takes over into the long, mildly dry finish. An interesting tripel, but not too easy-going.

(Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, 4 April 2008) Golden colour with huge, frothy, lasting, white head. Fruity nose with citrus, orange, spicy hints of clove and coriander. Quite lovely aroma actually. Fruity, slightly citric taste with citrus (orange, lemon) and a nice, spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, balanced sweetness. Brilliant balance. Very nice beer.

Poured a cloudy gold with a fluffy white head. Aromas of yeast and malt with a bit of citrus. Spicy taste of citrus, banana with a dry bite. Alcohol is noticable and I enjoyed the medium level of carbonation. A solid example of the style.
