Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Feb. 2007 - Pour golden yellow with nice head and lacing. Delicious fruity aroma. Flavor was fruits, spices and a touch of caramel...even a touch of hops. Tons of action in this one. Scrumptious!

Pours hazy bubbly golden with thick, dense white head with lots of lace. Floral and lightly citrus hops in the nose along with doughy grain aroma. Flavor is fruity, lightly sweet, orange and lemon, some deeper fruity esters – apple, peach - hints of herbal hops along with crisp resiny bitterness, lingering bitter and very light alcohol burn in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is very lively, bubbly, rich and textured. I likey.

Hazy golden color with a hug white head. Smells of fruit and champagne. Almost tastes more like a bittered champagne. Reminds me of eating green apples with the skin on. Long slightly bitter finish. I prefer the classic over this.

Bottle, Cambrinus, Brugge. Slightly cloudy blonde, thin white head. Nose is sherberty, medicinal, some sweet funkiness. Weird warmness. Mouth is long, sweet, slightly metallic, sweet fruit. Some maltiness. Odd for a tripel. Not a fan though.

(bottle from AZ): Pours a very pale golden yellow color. Somewhat cloudy. Big foamy white head, big bubbles, mostly lasting. Floral sweet aroma, light. Light grapes, sugary. Some alcohol,a little hops. Soft floral taste, some rubbing alcohol. Warming up...less alcoholy, a little warming. Very light flavor.

Hazy dull yellow with a medium white head, dense. I left the last half-inch in the bottle as there were huge floculent particles in the sediment. Aroma of boiled pasta, bread dough, and alcohol. Malty creamy palate, predominantly bready flavour with floral notes and maybe a bit of lemon in the finish with alcohol steadily apparent. BBD of 2009, but something seems wrong with that. Disappointing to say the least.
